How fast and fleeting are the days when your children played rock school on your steps and accepted your weak explanations of everything in life...then, in a breath, they challenge your thinking and let you know that they are sliding into the driver's seat and you can take your hands from the wheel. And we are the age we once thought old, and we are in our parents' recent yesterday. What will be remembered of the past we gave them? What will our children hold and what will they discard? This will mark the distinction between us and them. It is good to look at your little ones grown...and be proud. When cherished children become trusted friends, we rest in the nest.

I can only hope that I will be 1/2 as good a parent as my friends are.
It's amazing to watch selflessness given on a daily basis for little munchkins that barely reach our knees.
