holding confetti, feeling the parade

Like a little boy who arrived at the parade too late...held confetti in his hand and sqeezed it tightly as if to feel the parade in this remnant left him, I caught the end of a great parade on Sunday. It wasn't confetti that convinced me...it was confident youth, comfortable in worship. It was seeing tearful embraces and hearing warm words and knowing that my daughter and her husband had helped these teens on their journey to Jesus. I was so proud. Some measure success in positions and property--I think God measures victory in recognizing those who steadied the steps of those who would seek him and in those who remained authentic and attentive to their call. Yes, I saw a glimpse of quite a parade...I still hear its music, it is not far away...it is just moving to a new venue. Good job!
