"The great teachings unanimously emphasize that all the peace, wisdom, and joy in the universe are already within us; we don't have to gain, develop, or attain them. We're like a child standing in a beautiful park with his eyes shut tight. We don't need to imagine trees, flowers, deer, birds, and sky; we merely need to open our eyes and realize what is already here, who we really are -- as soon as we quit pretending we're small or unholy." unknown

Love your blog, and love your quotes. The quote from Roosevelt reminded me of one of my favorites from Abraham Lincoln: "Contentment lies not so much in having everything we want, as in wanting everything we have." I also noted your quote from William Wordsworth -- he is my all-time favorite poet, even inching out Robert Frost. Not familiar with most of your books, but love your movie choices. We seem to have a bit in common -- except that I am old enough to be your mother. In fact, I have a 31-year-old son! Keep up the good work and the lofty ideals. Dawn

Love the quote! It reminds me of one that I don't know who said or how it was exactly worded, but basically saying that we do not need to ask for God's presence with us, we only need to acknowledge that He is already there.

The words you write make everyone who reads them listen carefully for the words yet unwritten. Sweet syllables spoken by a sensitive spirit shared with the gentle invitation, "Touch my heart." Write on.
