hospitality

I had the pleasure of spending the last two days at my good friend, Carolyn's, the loving mother of four daughters (three of whom are teen-agers) and one son. You can just imagine my delight, discovering the vagisil on her kitchen floor, upon my arrival. What a relief, knowing that if an itch presents itself during dinner, I need not worry...a quick remedy lies just a reach away. And there's nothing like drifting off to sleep, knowing that within hours, nothing less than spartan french roast (for all coffee makers) would grace my discerning taste buds.

Despite such award-winning hospitality, I did not come for the vagisil. I did not come for the spartan french roast, or even the cran-raspberry juice that's always waiting for me.

I came for the laughter. the love. the freedom.

I came for the big hearts, otherwise known as carolyn, savannah, fiona, olivia, elsa, and noah. where time doesn't exist. where no subject is taboo. where all are accepted. where love reigns and laughter abounds. My love cup is full. glimpses soon to follow...

OK, all I want is the text from the deleted comment...I am so glad you had such a special weekend. Friends that renew are priceless. Homes that exude with sincere welcome are cherished...and its all about cheap coffee...I have it in my cupboard...but share my suggestion with Carolyn: Put the cheap coffee in a Starbucks foil bag...you can reuse it again and again.

Carin...oh what a good belly laugh you just provided. Vagisil on the kitchen floor....oh my HILARIOUS! :o)
I guess I shouldn't feel to bad if I have clothes on the floor, or dirty dishes in the sink when people come over! LOL! How do ya "top" that one?

Seriously, I am happy you had a nice time! That is wonderful! :o)

ha! I thought the table and chair legs were baguettes as well. Was it just me that got alot of mixed signals from that pic?

Wouldn't it have been funny if in the spartan coffee container she had Starbucks Cafe Cielo blend.

good for you...nothing like sister-friends, kiddies, and vagisil to make a few days really special. Sounds like you had some good times!
