On the first day of winter, my Somer was born. I'll never forget that magical
moment six years ago tonight...the doctor yelled, "It's another
GIRL!" And then three days later, driving her home on a
very snowy Christmas Eve. She was, without a doubt, my best

Christmas gift ever.

We had a family party earlier this week and

then today, her friend Kali came over to decorate cookies and share her cake...
which, is just darling, is it not? My kind and loving friend, Whitney,
insisted the Sumstress have a fabulous cake, without a trace of red and green.

The thought of my friend waking early before work today to make my six year old's

day makes me, well...cry. So, thank you, Whitney...I am touched.

And a very happy birthday to my Somer.
