official inaugural post

Photobucket

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday...
so here is my inaugural post.
a day late.
I'm excited about our new president...
even if my sister and others
tease me about said excitement.
along with the phrase, yes we can.
because hope is a beautiful thing.
so there.
"be the change you wish to see in the world"

An African-American nurse friend of mine told me the sweetest story about her mom...an older lady who asked her daughter on the weekend to take her shopping for a new dress for the inauguration which she would be celebrating in her living room. Her mother got up before the dawn on Tuesday and watched every minute of the festivities...crying at times and at other times, standing up and clapping the speakers that especially touched her heart. You see, she had been waiting for this day all her life, and kept saying, "I can't believe it...the dream is real!" She stayed up to watch the dancing at the grand balls...and even took a spin in her living room in her new dress. At finally, she took her new dress off, and went to bed...anticipating a brand new day.
Change you can sleep on.

i'm secretly just as excited as you are...it's just hard to find something to tease you about. unless you'd like me to go route of a certain little shirt brett gave to our sweet garbage men. eh? i'm excited for our country too. and thanks to obama...i'm gunna finish the sentence today: yes we can...clean our rooms. shoutin' our country's praises from my closet climbin' contraption. xoxo

Write real. Really write. This is YOUR inauguration...your "beginning in the light. It will be cathartic and therapeutic. Chronicle the journey, from here to there, from heartache to hope, from bondage to beauty. Life springs not from the comfortable cradle but from the crucible. I love you. Others will find hope and help in your words.

everything that has happened so far in your life, has done so to bring you here, to this moment. you are exactly where you are supposed to be right now. you are being led to things more wonderful than you can imagine. god has his hand on your life and on those around you. change is painful, but you will survive it, and you wont believe what awaits you in the future. "sometimes things have to fall apart, to allow things to fall into place."

you are brave.

and strong.

and oh, so loved.

as you say in your blog, "be the change"....
