half coughing, half hiccupping,
half crying as she finally got out, "I'm...sick."
so, I held my hands to her mouth as we rushed to the bathroom. I cleaned her up and made her a "sick bed" like my mom used to make me.
(she's better now...just catching you all up. I told you it just might be a blogathon. looks like I'm finding some mojo...blogging seems to have that effect on me.)

aww poor lil' girly, glad she's feeling better. what a perfect afternoon with mom. a memory to make her smile next week and when she is older and has girls of her own.
awesome picnic basket!
mmmm sick bed. I used to (wait, what do I mean USED to, I still do it) prolong illnesses just so I could get more time in the glorious sick bed. Pillows, blankies, chicken soup, flat soda with a straw, and best of all, mommy's touch at your beck and call...
p.s. was looking at this picture again and realized how much Rennie resembles your girls. YAY lucky me!!!
poor baby girl! i hate when they're sick like that...so helpless. the sick bed...love that.
AH, the sick bed! You are a good mom!
I will sound like a cruel and heartless parent, but I, in some strange way, enjoyed those sick days when you were like a rag doll in my arms...snuggly, needy, quiet. Not the really sick, miserable days...just those mopey, punky, cozy days when life was interrupted, just because of YOU. It reminded us what mattered.
it is so hard to see your babies sick... they are so good & full of hugs though! :)
sick pallet... price is right & a fresh 7up. i so remember that as a kid!
She needs MY bed. I'll take her.
My mom used to make me a sick bed!!!! She would tuck clean, crisp sheets into the couch so I could watch tv like I was in bed. I got to drink grape slushies (grape juice concentrate, ginger ale and ice blended into a frothy cure).
I agree with your dad I had a post a while back about that same thing. Somer is such a cutie even when she is sick.....my mom used to give me a bell I could ring if I needed anything.....
I love the sick bed and promptly copied it for my own kids after Kelle shared the idea with me...and my kids love it. :)
You're such a good Mommy. xoxo
